MOSCOW, October 6 Free grain supplies from Russia to African countries can begin within a month or a month and a half, said Russian Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev .
«We are now completing all the documents, I think within a month or a month and a half the ships will go there,» Patrushev said.
The Presidents of Russia and Turkey Vladimir Putin and Tayyip Erdogan met in Sochi in early September, they discussed the situation around the grain deal and other issues. Putin said that Russia will begin supplying free grain to six African countries in a couple of weeks. Erdogan noted that Ankara is ready to assist in the processing of Russian grain for further shipment to countries in need and hopes for joint implementation of steps to deliver food to African countries.
