WASHINGTON, Oct. 6 Former US President Donald Trump said , that the allegations circulated in the media that he allegedly shared secret data about American nuclear submarines with outsiders are untrue and ridiculous.
ABC reported yesterday that Trump had recently discussed «potentially sensitive information» with a member of his Florida club, Mar-a-Lago, an Australian billionaire who subsequently relayed what he heard to others, including some foreign officials and journalists.
«The ridiculous story that came out today about me talking to a member of Mar-a-Lago about American submarines is untrue and ridiculous,» Trump wrote on his Truth Social account. He suggested that the rumors are being spread by “corrupt prosecutors” who are trying to interfere with the 2024 presidential election.
The ex-president admitted that he privately declares a “well-known fact” that the Americans “produce the best submarines and military equipment in the world.”
«I will always promote the greatness of America and its military equipment. The alternative for allies and others would be to purchase from Russia, China and elsewhere. I love creating jobs in America, which has been one of my most successful achievements as president,» Trump said.
Australia previously scandalously rejected a multibillion-dollar contract with France in favor of acquiring American nuclear-powered submarines as part of the AUKUS defense partnership, which also includes Great Britain.
