NOVO-OGAREVO, October 7 Russian President Vladimir Putin announced plans to create a working group that will study the prospects for expanding energy cooperation with Kazakhstan and the region as a whole.
The leaders of Russia, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan earlier on Saturday launched the supply of Russian gas to Uzbekistan through the territory of Kazakhstan.
«We have now talked with the heads of energy companies, we have heard their assessments and positions. As agreed, we will give the command to create an appropriate working group, to calculate all options and all possible prospects in this direction,” Putin said at a meeting with the leader of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
He also noted that today they will be able to discuss all bilateral issues in an informal setting. “We have a huge amount of joint work,” Putin said.
