According to the recommendations of the working group of the Council for the Development of the Digital Economy under the Federation Council, new highways in Russia should be equipped with infrastructure for the installation of fixed and cellular networks. This includes the creation of sites for the installation of cell towers, as well as systems for laying cables, including sewers and sewers. Such requirements will also apply to roads being reconstructed and undergoing major repairs.
It is proposed to consolidate the organization of road infrastructure in close connection with telecommunications at the legislative level, by adopting a special law and amending building codes and regulations. This will make it possible to implement the concept of a “smart road”, which will provide orientation and control of unmanned vehicles. The recommendations will be considered by the Council.
