MOSCOW, Oct 8 .The famous Soviet and Ukrainian singer, People's Artist of the Ukrainian SSR Nina Matvinko has died, the Ukrainian publication «Public.News» reported, citing the words of her daughter Antonina Matvienko.

According to open sources, Nina Matvienko was a soloist in the Ukrainian Folk Choir named after Grigory Veryovka from 1968 to 1991, and since 1991 — a soloist of the National Ensemble of Soloists «Kiev Camerata». Since 1967, she has been actively conducting concert activities and touring in many countries. In 1985, Matvienko was awarded the title of People's Artist of Ukraine.
In 1997 she was awarded the Order of Princess Olga, III degree. In 2006, by decree of President Viktor Yushchenko, the singer was awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine.
