E1.RU portal reports that in Yekaterinburg, a truck hit a nine-year-old girl who was crossing the road at a traffic light. As a result of the accident, the schoolgirl was taken to a medical facility with a fracture of her right hip and abrasions.
It is noted that the moment of the accident on Sulimova Street was caught on CCTV cameras, and the footage shows how the girl and her friend approach the pedestrian transition. The schoolgirl waited a little, after which she decided to run, hoping that she would have time to jump through a red light, but towards the end of the zebra crossing, she was hit by a truck, and the impact even sent the child flying into the air.
According to the statement Traffic police and traffic inspectors established that the driver of the Citroen Jumper that hit the child was a 39-year-old man with 20 years of driving experience. The department asked parents to monitor their children’s leisure time and remind them daily of the rules of safe behavior on the road.
