BELGOROD, 12 Oct. Belgorod residents created a spontaneous memorial at the site of the death of a little girl and her grandparents after the fall of debris from a Ukrainian UAV, brought flowers and children’s toys there, the correspondent reports.
Earlier, the governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, reported that the air defense shot down a drone on approach to Belgorod, a private residential building caught fire due to falling debris, and two people were injured. He later clarified that the bodies of a man, a woman and a small child were recovered from the rubble. The general director of Russia Today, Dmitry Kiselev, said that Sputnik journalist Khaibar Akifi and his wife were wounded as a result of a Ukrainian Armed Forces drone strike in Belgorod, and their 4-year-old daughter was killed.
Not far from the destroyed house, people placed a marble slab and brought there flowers with mourning ribbons and children’s toys — in memory of the deceased child and her grandparents.
The house on which the fragments of the Ukrainian drone fell was badly damaged — the roof lies nearby, all the walls were destroyed to the foundation. In place of the one-story house with an attic there is now a pile of building bricks, concrete and boards. Workers are already removing construction debris. Next to the wreckage there is a canopy, under it a burnt gray Mitsubishi Outlander and a black Volkswagen with broken windows.
