STAR CITY, October 12 Russian members of the ISS crew demonstrated to the head of Roscosmos, Yuri Borisov, the location of the depressurization of the radiator on the multi-purpose laboratory module «Science».
“Modern means of telecommunications allow us to quickly respond and communicate with the cosmonauts. As soon as this happened, I was always in touch with the crew, they even showed me filming of the possible location of the damage,” Borisov told reporters.
According to the head of Roscosmos, the crew feels fine and is not in any danger. “One can always only envy their composure,” the head of the state corporation emphasized.
Borisov noted that the thermal conditions in the module have been preserved. “On October 25, during the spacewalk, Nikolai Chub and Oleg Kononenko will inspect the site of this damage and even look at the possibility of eliminating this malfunction,” he added.
On October 9, Roscosmos reported a coolant leak from the external (backup) circuit of the radiator of the multi-purpose laboratory module «Nauka». They clarified that the main thermal control circuit of the module is operating normally, providing comfortable conditions in the residential area. Roscosmos emphasized that nothing threatens the crew and the station.
