Bach did not set a deadline for lifting the suspension of the Russian Olympic Committee

MOSCOW, October 13. International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach said that there is no deadline for lifting the suspension of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC), it depends on the development of the situation.
The IOC previously announced the suspension of the ROC until further notice after inclusion to the Russian organization of the Olympic Councils of the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. At the same time, the IOC stated that it reserves the right to make a decision on the admission of Russians to the Olympics in Paris at the necessary time.

"There is no deadline for lifting the suspension (ROC), it will be valid until further notice, we “We will monitor the development of the situation,” Bach told reporters following a meeting of the IOC Executive Committee in Mumbai.

Earlier, the head of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Ukraine, Vadim Gutzeit, sent an official letter to IOC President Thomas Bach with a request to raise the issue of sanctions for the inclusion of new regions in the ROC Olympic Councils for consideration at the next meeting of the IOC Executive Committee. As noted in a statement by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, Bach, in response to the letter, said that the IOC had begun an investigation procedure and would discuss the issue at a meeting of the executive committee in Mumbai.

Russian President Vladimir Putin September 30, 2022 based on the results referendums in the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, signed agreements with their heads on the admission of the regions to Russia. On October 5, he signed federal laws ratifying the admission of these regions to Russia.
