YAROSLAVL, October 14 The former head of the police department in Tula is accused of arranging for his sons, including a minor, to shoot at a firing range with service firearms, reports SUSC for the Tula region.
“The investigation established that on June 7, 2023, the former head of the police department, while at a shooting range located on the territory of the village of Zamarino, Aleksinsky district, illegally transferred military firearms, their components and ammunition in the service of the police department to his two sons, one of which he is a minor, for shooting at the specified range,” the message says. The SUSC clarified that the man was the head of the police department at that time.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding the illegal transfer of firearms, their main parts and ammunition. The sanction of Part 3 of Article 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation is from 6 to 10 years in prison. SUSC clarifies that the ex-policeman is in the status of an accused.
Previously, a criminal case was opened against the ex-policeman for receiving a bribe by a group of persons by prior conspiracy on a large scale, the maximum sanction is from 7 to 12 years in prison.
«Currently, a former police officer has been charged, and a preventive measure in the form of detention has been chosen against him,» informs the SUSC.
A source in the regional security forces clarified that a police officer with the rank of colonel was dismissed for negative reasons.
