MOSCOW, October 16 Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry discussed the sharp deterioration of the situation in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict zone, the Russian diplomatic department reported.
“The central topic of the conversation was the sharp deterioration of the situation in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict zone, with an emphasis on the dramatic situation emerging as a result of the escalation of hostilities in the Gaza Strip and around it,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement about the telephone conversation between the heads of the foreign affairs agencies of Russia and Egypt.
«Samekh Shukri informed Sergei Lavrov about the upcoming summit in Cairo on October 21, during which it is planned to consider in detail the situation around Palestine,» the Russian Foreign Ministry added.
It is noted that the parties agreed to continue close contacts between Moscow and Cairo in light of the situation around the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
