The head of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug, Natalya Komarova, at a meeting with residents of Nizhnevartovsk on October 14, in response to a question from the wife of a participant in the invasion of Ukraine, who was not given equipment, said that “we as a whole did not prepare for this war.” The meeting was broadcast on Komarova’s VKontakte page.
“When will provision for our men begin? Exactly the security that is specified in their contract? That is, even, for example, they didn’t receive the backpacks in Khanty and even we don’t know where these backpacks are,” asked the contract soldier’s wife.
Komarova expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that such questions are addressed to her, and not to the Minister of Defense. She emphasized that she was ready to consider a specific application.
“The fact is that in this case, we as a whole did not prepare for this war, we do not need it. We built the world completely differently. In this regard, there will certainly be some inconsistencies and unresolved issues. We are people like everyone else. Does everything always work out for you at work? Not always for me. Therefore, we will calmly work with every signal,” explained the head of the region.
According to Komarova, the administration of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug cooperates with the Ministry of Defense and the heads of military units and “is trying to maximally meet the needs that arise on the contact line in the special zone military operation.»
As noted by the publication “Siberia. Realii», director of the Tyumen «Center for Public Control «Obereg»» Yuri Ryabtsev reported on his VKontakte page that he wrote a statement to the police against Komarov and asked to bring her under the administrative article of “discrediting” the Russian army (20.3.3 of the Administrative Code).
