Ukrainian payments on loans issued by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), for the first time approached the record level of $1 billion. The National Bank of Ukraine reports this. It is noted that last month Kyiv paid $882 million.
The above-mentioned amount of debt was a record for the last eight years. The National Bank of the country did not provide such data until 2015. Compared to the figures in August, the amount increased 2.3 times, from $680 million.
In the total account for all its creditors, Ukraine paid $958.5 million. This list also includes the World Bank and Western countries.
The IMF noted that by the end of 2023, Kyiv needs to pay another $370 million in loans.
