BEIJING, Oct. 17 Trade turnover between Russia and Mongolia grew by 40% last year , President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with his Mongolian counterpart Ukhnagiin Khurelsukh in Beijing.

“Last year we had a significant increase in trade turnover, 40%, this year it has adjusted slightly. Well, we have something to talk about, and our intergovernmental commissions should pay appropriate attention to this,” he said.
Putin noted that Moscow and Ulaanbaatar have significant multifaceted projects, including those implemented jointly with Beijing. As an example, the head of state pointed to the construction of a gas pipeline system through Mongolia to China.
According to him, all participants agree with the project and want to work to launch it. As the Russian leader clarified, he thinks that construction will progress at a “good pace.”
He invited the President of Mongolia to talk in detail about other projects.
«We have a very great interest in cooperation with Russia on all major projects that we plan to implement in the coming years,” said Khurelsukh.
In particular, the politician listed energy, railways and highways.
He also noted that the priority of Ulaanbaatar’s foreign policy has always been the development of relations with Moscow, and the Mongolian people have treated with warmth and friendship for many centuries to the Russian people.
The politician recalled that next year marks the 85th anniversary of the joint victory of the USSR and Mongolia in the battles of Khalkhin Gol.
