MOSCOW, October 16 Dutch specialist Patrick van Leeuwen was sent to resignation from the post of head coach of Shakhtar, according to the official website of the Ukrainian football club.
The club's management terminated the contract with van Leeuwen, and his coaching staff also left the team with him.
Van Leeuwen took charge of Shakhtar in July this year, under his leadership the team played only 12 matches.
In the Ukrainian Championship, Shakhtar is in third place in the standings, gaining 18 points in nine matches. At the group stage of the Champions League, the team won one victory in two matches, first losing to Porto (1:3), and then beating the Belgian Antwerp (3:2).
