CHELYABINSK, Oct. 16 Poetess Anna Akhmatova did not leave Russia in difficult times, unlike some show business stars who left the country because of the Northern Military District , said Margarita Simonyan, editor-in-chief of the Rossiya Segodnya media group and RT television channel, on the air of the Evening with Vladimir Solovyov program on Rossiya 1.
“The role model in this situation is Anna Akhmatova, who stayed, could always leave when it was still possible, and for years… Civil war, revolution. How much they persuaded her. And then she stayed. She experienced so much compared to her brilliant youth.” , noted Simonyan.
According to the journalist, she is deeply struck by “posts, phrases, like (Andrei) Makarevich’s phrase “I wish good luck to our fighters.”
““We even managed here not to miss the grandmother of the entire Soviet stage, people obviously like her everyone was offended, although it would seem that there was such popular love. Now the complaints against her are absolutely fair,” added Simonyan.
Also, in her opinion, those who left tried to convince others that they were “not happy with Putin, Shoigu, Solovyov” in Russia, that everything was to blame for aggressive people who contradict their principles — they are supposedly for peace, and the rest are for war.
«But as soon as it flared up in Israel, all these principles disappeared somewhere. It turned out that there had never been any values. These values were an excuse to cover up hatred for the Motherland. They did not expect any enlightenment in Russia; enlightenment is when Russia will be destroyed. <…> We all make them sick, and any doctor will say — if something makes you sick, you need to stop taking it, so a suitcase, a train station, Israel, Armenia, other countries, we won’t be bored here «, emphasized Simonyan.
She recalled that Akhmatova’s ex-husband, Nikolai Gumilev, was shot by the Bolsheviks in 1921, and her son Lev was imprisoned under Stalin, but the poetess “survived all her tormentors, outlived Stalin.”
“And she remained in the history of her people, in the history of our culture, in the history of our language with great words: “No, and not under an alien firmament, and not under the protection of alien wings — I was then with my people, where my people are, unfortunately, there was. <…> Unfortunately or fortunately, we'll see. As Vladimir Vladimirovich (Putin – editor’s note) said, active defense with God’s help will bear fruit, and we will see who has happiness and who has misfortune,” Simonyan concluded.
Previously, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin at a plenary session of the lower house on Tuesday, he said that relocants who left Russia and committed “vile acts, rejoicing at shots fired across the country, wishing victory for the Nazi bloody Kiev regime,” are “not only not welcome in their homeland, but even if they return , Magadan is provided with it.»
