MOSCOW, 18 Oct. Honored Coach of the USSR Tatyana Tarasova called Eteri Tutberidze a strong specialist, noting that they are similar to her.
“»Their staff works in threes. These are not the simplest people who work with her, they also know a lot. She is very strong, it seems to me that she is similar to me. She has what she has. They do not wait for the skaters to get better there, how they will practice. They do not wait for these two years. Tutberidze will develop further, they are not primitive people, they think what to do next and how to work with different girls,” Tarasova said in a video on the YouTube channel “Comment.Show”.
At the Beijing Olympics, Tutberidze’s student Anna Shcherbakova won gold in single skating, and Kamila Valieva became the winner of the team tournament. Figure skater Alexandra Trusova, who also competed at the Games under the guidance of a specialist, took silver in women's skating, Evgenia Tarasova and Vladimir Morozov took second place in the pairs competition.
