The Bezymyanny volcano in Kamchatka threw ash to a height of 11 kilometers

PETROPAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKY, Oct. 18 The Bezymianny volcano in Kamchatka ejected a column of ash to a height of 11 kilometers above sea level, the Institute of Volcanology and Seismology of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences reported in the Telegram channel.
«According to satellite data from the Kamchatka Volcanic Eruption Response Team (KVERT), at 16:00 Kamchatka time (07:00 Moscow time) the ash cloud rose to 10-11 kilometers above sea level, the ash cloud measuring 36 by 36 kilometers is moving to the north-northeast of the volcano,” the message says.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Kamchatka Territory, the villages of Klyuchi and Kozyrevsk, as well as the village of Mayskoye in the Ust-Kamchatka region, may be in the path of the ash cloud. The fallout of volcanic particles could not be ruled out there.

The activity of Bezymyanny increased sharply on October 16, and significant ash emissions to a height of 10-15 kilometers above sea level may occur in the next three days.
Bezymianny Volcano is located in the Ust-Kamchatka region of Kamchatka. Its height is 2882 meters above sea level.
