The attacker was detained by the police. He is on the list of radical Islamists who are being monitored to prevent terrorist attacks, as well as on the list of persons posing a threat to state security (fiche S). At the same time, the brother of the attacker was detained near another school. It turned out to be Movsar Mogushkov, who had previously been convicted of publishing materials from the terrorist organization “Islamic State”* on social networks. The family of the detainees had previously tried to obtain political asylum in France; they came from Ingushetia.
