MOSCOW, October 16. Honored Artist of Russia, cellist Alexander Gotgelf died at the age of 74, the press service of the Russian National Orchestra reported.
The cause of the musician’s death is not specified.
Alexander Gotgelf was born in 1948. Graduated from the Gnessin State Musical and Pedagogical Institute. He has worked with the Russian National Orchestra since its founding in 1990. He took part in solo and chamber concerts. Over the years, his partners were Natalia Shakhovskaya, Igor Oistrakh and Mikhail Pletnev.
