Statistics published by the Japanese Ministry of Finance indicate a reduction in Japan's imports of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Russia by 21.4% at the beginning of the current fiscal year (April-September) compared to the same period last year.
In the first half of the year, Japan also reduced purchases of Russian coal by 77.3% and did not purchase oil from Russia, with the exception of supplies from the Sakhalin-2 project related to LNG imports.
