SEOUL, Oct. 19 DPRK Foreign Minister Choi Song Hee, at a government reception in honor of the arrival of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and the Russian delegation in Pyongyang, expressed hope that the visit will lead to the expansion of comprehensive and constructive bilateral relations, the DPRK Central Telegraph Agency (KCNA) reports.
At the reception, the head of the DPRK Foreign Ministry, on behalf of the government of the country, warmly welcomed Lavrov and the Russian delegation.
According to Choi Song Hui, thanks to the “correct leadership and strategic decision” of the heads of the Russian Federation and the DPRK, historically friendly relations today are rising to a new level and developing to “invincible friendly relations” looking into the future.
«She expressed hope that during the current visit, satisfactory results will be achieved aimed at expanding comprehensive and constructive bilateral relations at a higher level, improving the well-being of the people of the two countries in accordance with the historical agreements reached by the leaders of the DPRK and the Russian Federation,» KCNA reports.
Lavrov arrived in North Korea on Wednesday for a two-day visit, which comes a month after North Korean leader Kim Jong-un's trip to the Far East and his meeting with the Russian President at the Vostochny cosmodrome in the Amur region. The last time Lavrov visited the DPRK was at the end of May 2018; before that, the minister visited Pyongyang in 2009 and 2004.
