Experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) ) took samples of fish caught off the coast of Fukushima to check its safety. TASS reports this with reference to the Japanese television channel NHK.
12 scientists took part in the study, including from Canada, South Korea and China. To collect samples, they visited a port in the city of Iwaki, which is located in Fukushima Prefecture.
Specialists selected 70-kg batches of six different species of fish and packed them in containers with ice for shipment to a research facility in Chiba Prefecture and the country -participants.
Each country will now conduct its own analysis. All results will be compiled into a general report, which will be published later.
We would like to remind you that earlier the Japanese energy company TEPCO began the second stage of water discharge from the Fukushima-1 nuclear power plant.
