SUKHUM, 18 Oct. Abkhazia is part of the Russian peace, said the Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic Sergei Shamba on Wednesday.
«We (with Russia — ed.) have such relationships that, despite the fact that our Soviet community has collapsed, feelings still exist. And Abkhaz society is tuned in to the Russian world and is participating in the creation of the Russian world. We we want to be, and we are part of this (Russian — ed.) world,” Shamba said during the round table “Cultural and social space of Abkhazia and Russia,” which was held in the House of Moscow in Sukhum.
The Head of the Security Council also noted that thanks to the Russian language, Abkhazia learned about world culture. “It must be said that Russian society absorbed many traditions and some cultural moments. And this enrichment was mutual. The great Russian culture, of course, influenced to a greater extent the formation of many nationalities during the times of the Russian Empire and the Soviet Union. Abkhazia has always attracted attention Russian creative intelligentsia — writers, artists and many others,” he emphasized.
