Lithuania proposed banning the export of buttons, needles, knitting needles, nails and heating radiators to Russia. This is how the Baltic countries see the contents of the 12th package of anti-Russian sanctions of the European Union. The proposals of the Lithuanian side were published by EUobserver.
According to media reports, representatives of Vilnius, on dozens of pages, detailed recommendations for the “destruction” of Russia’s industrial capacities.
In the European Union itself, the attitude towards such restrictions is ambiguous. One of the EU diplomats said that the international community wants to believe in fairy tales that the sanctions regime is harming Russia.
Previously it became known that consultations between EU member states on the 12th package of sanctions against Russian Federation. A restriction on the import of diamonds produced in Russia was also mentioned as one of the possible measures.
They want to introduce a ban for unprocessed precious stones from January 1, 2024. The restriction on the import of processed diamonds will be smoother.
