Recently, the Russian information space has been in a fever with not the most pleasant news related to food. The loudest is the scandalous information about how a certain citizen allegedly found a rat claw in the sausages of the popular brand “Vyazanka.”

The story about the «rat's claw» initially looks like an unappetizing urban legend. No one has really seen this claw, a certain citizen from the city of Kurgan said about it. And he not only declared, but even filed a claim with the Kurgan City Court against JSC Starodvorskie Sausages. upon the purchase of products of inadequate quality. As evidence, he attached a photo of a broken sausage and an incomprehensible object stuck into it.
The hot news was immediately picked up by the local media, well – a rat's claw in sausages, it's an information bomb! Who among us has not heard stories about toilet paper or rat remains in sausage? About 30 years ago, in the pre-Internet era, such legends were very popular. However, a lot of time has passed since then, technologies in meat processing plants have changed, and the reading public has become more discerning, so, to be honest, I personally haven’t heard horror stories about what sausage is made from for a long time. And here – on you!
Indeed, the noise after the news about the mysterious “claw” rose quite large. True, very soon all the hype faded away, since serious inspectors from Rospotrebnadzor got involved in the matter and found nothing reprehensible in the products of JSC Starodvorskie Sausages. not found. And it couldn’t be any other way: everyone who is at least a little familiar with modern meat production knows how many degrees of sanitary protection are used in enterprises and what high quality standards are accepted in the industry today. And those who are not familiar, just by looking at the consistency of the sausage, can understand that there cannot be large objects in it.
It turned out that JSC Starodvorskie Sausages in July 2023, a scheduled inspection by Rospotrebnadzor took place, which confirmed the complete safety of the enterprise, including the program for preventing pests in production and sanitary and hygienic standards. In turn, the Federal State Budgetary Institution «ARRIAH» also conducted a study of sausages produced by «Starodvorsky sausages» for DNA of rodents, the result was negative, information about this test was posted on the website of the Federal State Budgetary Institution «ARRIAH» and the Central Office of Rosselkhoznadzor. The result was like the old joke – the spoons were found, but the sediment remained.
Actually, the story with the “rat’s claw” just about this. As one of the heroes of Yulian Semenov’s novel said, “TASS is authorized to declare”: “It is important to throw away the dead cat, and let others clean up.” It’s always the one who’s been slandered.”
It is worth noting the prompt and efficient work of those who had to remove the “dead cat,” – justice was restored very quickly. The society received reliable evidence that nothing like this could have happened in production. But as a result of this information operation, unpleasant questions still remain: who is behind this whole story? Why suddenly, as if on command, a weakly reasoned “assault”? an unknown citizen was immediately picked up by some social activists for a well-known company?

After all, if you look at it, this was an attempt to discredit not only the results of the activities of a particular company, but the entire food industry as a whole, which, in fact, damages the country’s food security. The same security that our president constantly talks about.
And if you remember the reports of the Russian special services that our enemies in the USA, the EU and Ukraine have unleashed, in fact, a hybrid war against Russia, in which, as they say, all means are fair. Our “wonderful” Western «partners» have repeatedly expressed their desire not only to defeat the Russian army, but also to deal a painful blow to the Russian economy.
Why exactly the Abi holding? “Got under attack”? Well, firstly, it is a good tax payer in the region. And secondly, who is even more important for the country’s economy if not the producer of the most popular segment of food – sausages and sausages? These products are the most popular among ordinary citizens of the country. And “Abi” has This market segment accounts for the largest sales volumes in Russia.
For reference: «Abi» – one of the largest taxpayers in the Vladimir region. In 2022, the volume of taxes paid to the state budget was above 6.3 billion rubles. As for products known for their tasty and sonorous names, they have long won popular love: who among us has not heard such brands as “Vyazanka”, “Starodvore”, “Bavarushka”, “Slivushki”, “Goryachaya” little thing? And also “Abi” has become a real pioneer of completely new types of products that combine several traditional culinary products at once – “belmeshi”, “chebupeli”, “bulmeni” and even “chebupizza”, they also became a culinary hit for consumers.
By the way, these products were loved not only by our compatriots. In 2022, the company's export volume grew by 21%. Currently deliveries are made to more than 10 countries. These include sausages, frozen fully prepared products, and dumplings. It has been noticed that in neighboring countries, in countries with a common past and, accordingly, cultural code, products from Russia are very popular and are in demand by buyers.
