In Kyiv they talked about the fate of US spending on Ukraine's defense needs

MOSCOW, October 22 Ambassador of Ukraine to the USA Oksana Markarova said on Facebook* that the budget request submitted by the White House administration to Congress for $46.1 billion in defense spending for Ukraine stipulates that $30.6 billion of it will be allocated to US Department of Defense programs.
“The budget request submitted by the White House to the US Congress provides about 61.4 billion for Ukraine, of which 46.1 billion are defense expenditures and 11.8 billion are direct budget support,” Markarova wrote on her page on the social network.

She clarified that the main components of this budget request include defense spending — 46.1 billion, of which $30.6 billion will be allocated for US Department of Defense programs. Among other things, she said, 18 billion is allocated to replenish defense stocks from US Department of Defense warehouses, reimburse the costs of defense services and military education and training provided to Ukraine. Another 12 billion is earmarked for the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI) and 1.7 billion for Foreign Military Financing (FMF) for Ukraine and other US partners.

Of this aid package, $14.4 billion is allocated for technical and intelligence support, $14.75 billion is intended for economic, financial, civil and nuclear security, including $11.8 billion in direct budget support for Ukraine, Markarova said.

“»In the US House of Representatives, this proposal can be brought to the floor for consideration and voting only after the issue of electing the speaker has been resolved. We are monitoring this process,» she concluded.
On Thursday evening, US President Joe Biden, in an address to Americans, said that supporting Ukraine and Israel is a “smart investment” that will “pay dividends” for generations and will help avoid endangering American troops. In addition, he said that he would send a request to Congress for assistance to Ukraine and Israel. On Friday, the White House published a corresponding document, which provides for the allocation of more than $105 billion to provide assistance to Kiev, Tel Aviv and other regions of the world.
