DUBAI, Oct 21 The Russian company Mertech has created smart scales for supermarkets that can independently recognize what is on them in less than a second, said the head of the department development and support of solutions of the company Ilya Tyutyunnik.
“»Our solution allows you to very quickly and accurately determine which product is on the label printing platform. The recognition speed is about 200 milliseconds, this will reduce the client’s delay time near the scales by 4 times,” he said at the technology exhibition GITEX in Dubai, where the company brought scales for presentation.
According to Tyutyunnik, this is an innovative solution for the countries of the Middle East, and here it is especially relevant: in the region, in supermarkets, this function is performed by a person on duty near the scales. With the new scales, the employee can switch to another job. In addition, the solution is completely autonomous: there is no need to connect it to the Internet or server to work.
