MOSCOW, Oct. 22 Washington will deploy a missile defense battery in the Middle East THAAD complex and additional battalions of Patriot surface-to-air missile systems, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said in a statement on the Pentagon website.
“I have intensified the deployment of the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) battery, as well as additional Patriot battalions to locations throughout the region ( Middle East. — Ed.) to strengthen the protection of American troops,» Austin said.
