
PYATIGORSK, Oct. 19A previously unaccounted for ancient underground crypt was discovered on the territory of the Nizhny Puy tower complex in Ingushetia. The object is planned to be included in the list of cultural heritage, reports the press service of the Dzheirakh-Assinsky Museum-Reserve.
«»As part of the work plan, within the boundaries of the village «Nizhniy Pui» field work was carried out to include in the list of identified cultural heritage objects a previously unregistered underground crypt with signs of OKN, and located 150-200 meters north of the complex. Employees of the museum-reserve made description, measurements, sketches and photographic recording of an object that was not on the list of identified objects of cultural heritage of the republic,” the message says.
The Nizhny Puy tower complex is located in the southern part of the Targim Basin. A battle tower with a stepped pyramidal roof rises above the village; many petroglyphs have been preserved on the residential towers.

In the past, this village occupied an important strategic position, guarding the approaches to the basin from the southern and eastern sides. Among those who came from the complex there were many famous hereditary, highly experienced warriors and skilled hunters.
