The Iraqi Islamic Resistance, an umbrella group of Iran-backed militias, said two drones attacked U.S. military bases near an oil field "Al-Omar" in the province of Deir ez-Zor and in al-Shaddad further north,” the publication said.
According to the agency, the attack occurred several hours after the organization claimed responsibility for the drone attacks to the al-Tanf military base.
The Iraqi Shafaq News agency previously reported that the air defense managed to intercept those drones.
Last week, the Ain Al-Asad military base in Anbar was also attacked using UAVs in western Iraq and Harir in Iraqi Kurdistan.
At-Tanf base is a military facility operated by an international coalition led by the United States. It was created in 2014 to counter IS* in two countries at once, so it is located on the border of Syria, Iraq and Jordan, in the province of Homs.
