MOSCOW, October 23 Politics and business cannot be combined, since a businessman, having entered politics, will either lose his business or will not succeed as a politician, says State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin.
“When a businessman comes into politics, unless he lives in politics, he will not succeed as a politician. But at the same time, as soon as he lives in politics, he will lose business. And if, having entered politics, he engages in business, he will no politician. Therefore, this cannot be combined,» Volodin said at parliamentary hearings in the State Duma on the topic: «Development of small and medium-sized businesses in the Russian Federation: objectives, prospects, legislative support.»
According to the speaker of the State Duma, competition is the basis of both politics and business, and as soon as a businessman gets tired of competition, problems begin, and as soon as a politician — pension and loss in the election campaign.
«And when it comes It's about risks, if a businessman takes risks, then he risks his capital. Yes, of course, the derivatives of these risks are different. There may be job losses, bankruptcy of an enterprise. But when it comes to politics, these losses can be — a village, a city, a region, country, citizens. Therefore, we must always understand and take this into account,» Volodin noted.
Volodin also emphasized that this especially applies to young people who want to go into politics and become successful.
«Colleagues, politics, like business, is not “social security”. Not “social security”! This is competition: there are no young politicians, no young businessmen. There are those who are responsible and irresponsible. There are experienced ones, and those who are not experienced,” added Speaker of the State Duma. -0-
