The Supreme Court of North Ossetia sentenced 22-year-old anti-fascist from Moscow Saveliy Frolov to six years in a maximum security colony in the case of preparation for treason (Part 1 of Article 30, Article 275 of the Criminal Code). This was reported by the First Department project, whose lawyers defended Frolov in court.

In addition, the anti-fascist was fined 100 thousand rubles and it was decided that after his release from the colony, he would not be able to leave his native region for two years.

The criminal case against Savely Frolov is the first known case of application in Russia of the article on preparation for “switching to the enemy’s side.” On October 30, 2022, a Muscovite was detained on the border with Georgia near the Verkhniy Lars checkpoint.

According to the anti-fascist lawyer Evgeny Smirnov, border guards found subscriptions to anti-war telegram channels on his client’s phone, as well as “messages regarding the Freedom of Russia Legion,” and in his luggage — camouflage pants and tactical boots. Frolov was taken to the police department in Vladikavkaz, and the next day the Sovetsky District Court of the capital of North Ossetia arrested him for 15 days under the protocol on petty hooliganism.

After two weeks in a special detention center, the anti-fascist was not released. On November 14, the court sentenced him to another 15 days of arrest under the article on disobedience to the requirements of border guards. On November 30, he was again arrested for 15 days under the article of petty hooliganism.

In December, a criminal case was opened against Frolov and he was sent to a pre-trial detention center. According to investigators, the anti-fascist planned to get to Istanbul through Georgia, from there to Poland, and then to Ukraine, where he planned to join the ranks of the “Freedom of Russia” legion. The lawyer notes that the young man did not even have a Schengen visa, which would allow him to enter Europe. The Muscovite himself said that he was going to Georgia to visit friends.
