Missile carriers are destroyed even before the launch line
The head of the Russian military department announced on October 25 that new effective systems have appeared in the Russian air defense system. According to him, this made it possible to shoot down 24 Ukrainian aircraft in the Northwestern Military District zone within a few days. What complexes are we talking about, MK asked the ex-chief of the anti-aircraft missile forces of the Special Forces Command (Moscow Air Defense District), reserve colonel Sergei Khatylev, to explain.

According to the expert, in this case we are not talking so much about some supernova air defense systems – they are constantly being improved and tested – how much about an effective change in the tactics of using air defense in general.
— This is due to the fact, says the expert, that recently cases of the enemy’s use of long-range air-launched missiles have become more frequent. In particular, the Anglo-French stealth cruise missiles Storm Shadow, which were transferred to Kyiv. The carriers of these missiles are mainly converted old Su-24 bombers from the 70s, which have been in service with the Ukrainian Air Force since Soviet times.
These aircraft are not of any kind for our air defense. then serious goals. Their only danger is that they are carriers of long-range missiles.
I will not reveal everything, I will only say that in connection with this, the tactics of using anti-aircraft missile forces were restructured in such a way as to strengthen the reconnaissance capability and no longer fight missiles at the final stage of their flight directly at protected object, and destroy the enemy even before the launch line of these missiles.
