ISTANBUL, Oct. 25 Israel will make a mistake if it launches a ground attack operation in the Gaza Strip, an urgent ceasefire is needed, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said on Wednesday.
The Israel Defense Forces is postponing the start of a full-scale ground operation in the Gaza Strip due to possible “death traps,” the Foreign Ministry’s deputy director of public relations said on Tuesday Israel's Emmanuel Nachshon.
«We in no way accept aggression against innocent civilians in Gaza, which has become a collective punishment… Israel needs to step back and not make this mistake. A ground operation will turn this brutality into a real massacre. Urgently needed take measures to stop the war and attacks on civilians in Gaza: an urgent truce and the opening of corridors for the delivery of humanitarian aid are needed,” Fidan said at a joint press conference with his Qatari counterpart. He again noted that now is a turning point — the crisis will lead either to a large-scale regional war or to peace.
