MOSCOW, October 23 People's Artist Alexander Domogarov was released from participation in the play «Tartuffe» at the Mossovet Theater at his personal request, the theater's press service reported .

"The management of the Mossovet Theater satisfied the request of actor Alexander Domogarov, who, due to his employment in other projects, asked to be released from participation in the play “Tartuffe,” said a representative of the theater’s press service.

«Tartuffe» is a stage version of Moliere's play «Tartuffe, or the Deceiver», staged by the theater's artistic director Eugene Marcelli. According to the theater's website, Domogarov and Vitaly Kishchenko were appointed to play the role of Tartuffe.

Alexander Domogarov — People's Artist, Soviet and Russian theater and film actor. The actor became famous for his roles as Pavel Gorin in the film «Midshipmen III», Comte de Bussy in the television series «Countess de Monsoreau», and Andrei Seregin in the series «Gangster Petersburg». Since 1995 he has been serving at the Mossovet Theater. In 2021, information appeared in the media about Domogarov’s departure from the theater, but the institution denied this.
