UFA, October 26 A dispute arose in the Bashkortostan parliament over a street in Ufa named after the world famous choreographer Rudolf Nureyev.
Earlier, the regional branch of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation on its website published a letter signed by its leader Yunir Kutluguzhin, which states that “regional officials are promoting LGBT propaganda, since a street in Ufa, a museum and a ballet troupe in the theater are named after the famous choreographer Rudolf Nureyev, annually using budget funds An international festival is being organized in his honor, and the Ufa Choreographic College is also named after Nureyev.”
The press service of the state assembly-kurultai of Bashkiria said that on Thursday, at the second plenary meeting of the republican parliament, the Communist Party faction tried to put on the agenda a statement on the protection of traditional values, which gave a negative assessment of the personality of a native of the republic, Rudolf Nureyev.
“Is it really possible that in a difficult hour for our homeland, when representatives of our other factions daily form humanitarian convoys for the front line, and themselves take part in special operations, the Communist Party faction has not come up with anything better than throwing mud at an outstanding person, an integral part of not only the republican, not only all-Russian, but and world culture, a man of whom we are all proud. I really hope that the letter that I received signed by the leader of the faction, Yunir Kutluguzhin, still reflects his personal opinion, and not the opinion of the entire faction,» the speaker's press service quotes State Assembly of Konstantin Tolkachev.
The chairman of the regional parliament noted that the struggle for moral values is now being waged in the special operation zone.
«Military registration and enlistment offices are open. The recruitment of volunteers is constant. Those who want to have their say have this opportunity. And Nureyev doesn’t need to be “kicked” with much heroism. I propose that this issue be considered at a meeting of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation faction, and the behavior of the faction leader — at a commission ethics,» he added.
According to the press service, the representative of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, Deputy Chairman of the Parliament of the Republic Vadim Starov called this situation a misunderstanding and stated that this issue had not been agreed upon in the Communist Party faction.
