MOSCOW, Oct. 27 Police have discovered the body of a missing British mercenary Daniel Burke in a sewer at a training ground in the Zaporozhye region, the Sun reported, citing the father of the deceased.

It is noted that the body found in the sewer at the training ground was helped to be discovered by the Australian-Algerian mercenary Abdelfetah Nourin. He told police he shot Burke by mistake. Previously, Nurin said that before his disappearance, the Briton was with him at the training ground, but then left there without him.
However, later in correspondence quoted by the publication, when asked who killed Burke, the foreign mercenary replied: “Obviously me, but it was not intentional murder.» Commenting on why he said Burke left the training ground without him, Abdelfetah said he did not know what to do after the incident.
According to the Sun, Ukrainian police refused to confirm whether Nourin had left the country.
Previously, the publication reported that the British mercenary Jordan Chadwick, whose body was found in Ukraine in a pond with his hands tied, was probably tortured and killed by another foreign mercenary.
The Telegraph previously reported that a former paratrooper from Great Britain, Daniel Burke, who fought on the side of Kiev, who then worked as a frontline rescuer, went missing in Ukraine. According to the publication, the 36-year-old native of Manchester served in the parachute regiment of the British army, including in Afghanistan. Afterwards he worked as a builder, then went to Syria to join the Kurdish fighters who fought against IS*.
Upon returning to his homeland, Burke was accused of assisting the Kurdish YPG units in planning terrorist attacks against Turkey and spent seven months in custody, as a result the case was dropped. In 2022, he came to Ukraine, organizing his own unit, the Dark Angels, but then stopped participating in hostilities and began helping with the evacuation from the front-line zone. Burke lived in an apartment in the city of Zaporozhye.
