MOSCOW, October 27 Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said that a second record harvest is expected in Russia, it will be enough to both meet domestic needs and and for export.
““We expect a second record harvest, which will be enough for consumers in the domestic market, and of course for our partners abroad,” Mishustin said at a meeting with the government on Friday.
He also said that preliminary results of seasonal field work indicate that the country has noticeably increased the production of oilseeds, vegetables, fruits and berries, the volume of domestic seeds has increased, more mineral fertilizers have been purchased than in 2022, and the plan is to sow winter crops for next year’s harvest. According to Mishustin, over 140 million tons of grains and legumes were threshed.
The positive dynamics, the Prime Minister noted, are facilitated by state support measures, in particular, the technological renewal of the agricultural machinery fleet is being carried out.
“»This year, farmers received about 2 thousand Russian and Belarusian tractors. It is planned to supply another 13 thousand units of machinery and equipment on lease by the end of the year,» added Mishustin.
