“The political system and economic model created by the president have shown their effectiveness,” Volodin said at a discussion of the draft budget by the United Russia faction.
He noted that it is necessary to strengthen the dialogue between the branches of government, as well as to listen to citizens. “The government has the only opportunity to conduct a dialogue with citizens — to do this through the deputy corps, meeting with deputies, discussing these issues that deputies raise on behalf of their voters,” Volodin added. He expressed hope that the State Duma’s work on government initiatives, including the budget, will be of high quality; the State Duma Speaker also thanked his colleagues from the Cabinet of Ministers, noting that joint activities are becoming more and more productive.
The State Duma on Thursday is considering in the first reading the draft federal budget for 2024 and the planning period 2025-2026. He is represented by Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov.
According to the project, budget revenues in 2024 will amount to 35.065 trillion rubles, in 2025 — 33.552 trillion, in 2026 — 34.051 trillion. Expenditures are planned at 36.66 trillion, 34.382 trillion and 35.587 trillion rubles, respectively.
