Hungary explained in what case the 12th package of EU sanctions will be approved

UN, October 28 Hungary will not agree to the adoption of the 12th package of anti-Russian sanctions of the European Union if it includes the gas, oil, nuclear sectors of the Russian industry, said the head of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry, Peter Szijjártó, in an interview.
“I can tell you for sure: if the next package contains something that contradicts our national interests, we will definitely not agree to its adoption. The red line for us obviously concerns energy, gas, oil, nuclear energy and any other aspects , which could harm our state economy,” Szijjártó said.

In general, according to him, Budapest does not believes that the EU sanctions policy towards Russia should be continued.
«» Sanctions policies simply don't work. Sanctions may hit Russia and they may harm Russia, but they certainly do a lot of harm to the European economy, to European countries. And if a sanctions policy causes more harm to those who impose them than to those against whom they directed, then what is the point of continuing it? — Szijjártó pointed out, adding that “in general, we do not see any point in continuing the sanctions policy, of course, if there is nothing there that would be contrary to our national interests, we understand that others would like to push them forward.”
“What Regarding personalities, we have a very clear position: those who have done something good for Hungary, those who have saved the lives of Hungarians, for example by making it possible to buy vaccines, or those who play an important role in ensuring the security of our energy supply — why Should we put them on the sanctions list, knowing that these people have not done anything bad to our country?” — the minister noted.

Thus, according to him, Hungary did not allow Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov to be included in the EU sanctions list. «Because he helped Hungary a lot. He contributed to saving the lives of Hungarians during a health emergency. The same applies to Kirill Dmitriev or the same applies to the Minister (of Health of the Russian Federation Mikhail — ed.) Murashko. We believe that sports should not be confused with politics — so, the same situation with the Russian Minister of Sports,” said Szijjártó.

The Russian Federation has previously stated more than once that the West made a serious mistake by refusing to buy hydrocarbons from Russia , he will fall into a new, stronger dependence due to higher prices. Moscow stated that those who refused would still buy at a higher price through intermediaries and would continue to buy Russian oil and gas.
The Russian Federation stated that the country would cope with the sanctions pressure that the West began to exert on Russia several years ago and continues to increase. Moscow noted that the West lacks the courage to admit the failure of sanctions against the Russian Federation. In Western countries themselves, opinions have been repeatedly voiced that anti-Russian sanctions are ineffective. Russian President Vladimir Putin previously stated that the policy of containing and weakening Russia is a long-term strategy of the West, and sanctions have dealt a serious blow to the entire global economy. According to him, the main goal of the West is to worsen the lives of millions of people.
Earlier, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said that the Russian economy is showing steady growth. According to him, interest in the Russian economy is growing, despite all attempts by opponents to cut it off from global production chains, logistics routes and financial settlement systems.
