MOSCOW, Oct. 26 Russia is a strategic partner and an ally of Kazakhstan, the country has a strong friendship, said the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Russia Dauren Abaev.
““For Kazakhstan, Russia is not just a neighbor, it is an ally and a strategic partner… Kazakhstan and Russia should not and are not obliged to be friends, Kazakhstan and Russia are doomed to be friends,” the diplomat said, speaking at a reception on the occasion of the Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Moscow.
He also noted the interest of Kazakhstan residents in learning the Russian language and obtaining higher education in Russia, noting that today more than 60 thousand citizens of the republic are studying at Russian universities.
