In the first half of 2023, at the request of Roskomnadzor, Yandex removed 190,525 links from the search. Information about this follows from the company’s report, which drew attention to Roskomsvoboda.
At the same time, in the second half of 2022, the number of deleted links was less — 149,364. As noted in Yandex, links are deleted automatically, as soon as they are included in the register of prohibited sites.
In addition, Roskomnadzor requires the company to also remove links to prohibited content — for example, in the Yandex Music and Yandex Cue services. Such content includes music and podcasts, turbo pages and saved copies of sites.
So, earlier, at the request of Roskomnadzor, various compositions were removed from Yandex Music — for example, the song “This Will Pass” by the group “Pornofilms” «- and podcasts: “Live not by lies”, “Kavachay”, “Deadline” and others.

< p>Between January and June 2023, Yandex received 32,664 requests to disclose user data, which is 8,466 more than in the previous reporting period. At the same time, as stated in the company’s report, the document “does not include information on the provision of information to law enforcement agencies, provided for in Art. 10.1 of the Federal Law of July 27, 2006 N 149-FZ.»
A day earlier, it also became known that Roskomnadzor demanded that Russian search engines remove the sites of the world's 11 largest hosting providers from the search results — we are talking about GoDaddy, Amazon Web Services, Ionos, HostGator, Bluehost, Hetzner, Digital Ocean, WP Engine, Network Solutions, DreamHost and Kamatera. The reason for this was the refusal of hosting providers to comply with the requirements of the law on the “landing” of IT companies in Russia.
