The Ministry of Finance called for the development of common global standards for digital currencies

MOSCOW, Oct 30 The world community will eventually develop uniform standards for the use of central bank digital currencies in international trade, the Deputy Minister said finance Alexey Moiseev, speaking at the International Customs Forum.
“In the future, I am confident that central bank digital currencies will be very actively used in foreign trade, but there is a lot of work to do,” he said.

The Deputy Minister drew attention to the fact that many countries have not yet started issuing digital currencies, in addition, uniform standards are very important.

«As far as I know, the work on standardizing digital currencies is only at the very beginning… And we need… the digital currencies of different countries to understand each other. This is the biggest problem now. I am sure that the world community will come to this as technology develops, that… standards for the exchange of these digital currencies will be developed and then, of course, international trade, including in the EAEU, will take a fairly prominent role,” Moiseev noted.
The International Customs Forum is taking place on October 30-31, 2023. is a strategic information partner of the forum.
