The serial three-row crossover Exeed VX (Exeed is a premium sub-brand of Chery) debuted in 2020, and in the spring of this year a modernized SUV was presented in its native China. By the way, the brand itself considers the modified model to be the second generation, although it is still a restyling. So now Exeed VX has a new version — International Edition. Sales of this version started today, November 1, in the Middle Kingdom, and at the same time it was announced that this particular option will soon appear in foreign markets: therefore, a similar SUV will reach Russia.

Externally, the International version differs from the standard restyled Exeed VX for China in the design of the front end. Thus, the “international” cross received a radiator grille with horizontal dies instead of vertical ones. The pre-reform global VX also has horizontal stripes on the front, but there are fewer of them, and the grille itself is more compact in the old cross. Another difference between the Exeed VX International and the pre-restyling “world” model is the retouched front bumper.
The length of the crossover intended for the Celestial Empire is 4970 mm, width – 1940 mm, height – 1792 mm, wheelbase – 2900 mm. The current Russian VX is slightly lower than the Chinese version, the remaining dimensions of the cars are the same.

The interior of the Exeed VX International Edition has black leather upholstery instead of the brown one of the “simply” VX for China. Well, if we compare it with our current crossover, the interior has been completely redrawn, and it was designed in the style of a Mercedes. Inside, a new front panel was installed with three displays under one glass (the pre-reform “Chinese” had a two-screen display). The central air deflectors are located on top of the multimedia touchscreens; there is no longer a separate “climate” touchscreen unit with washers (all settings are built into the largest screen).

The Exeed VX also has a new steering wheel with touch-sensitive buttons, and gear shifting is controlled by the right steering column lever. The seat settings controls were placed on the doors — again, like Mercedes-Benz. In addition, the seats themselves have been improved; in addition, the list of equipment includes heating and ventilation of the first and second rows (the front seats also have a massager) and an active noise reduction system. In China, the Exeed VX International Edition is offered with a six- or seven-seat cabin.

The engine has moved over from the standard model. In the domestic market, the VX is available with a 2.0 petrol turbo-four that produces 261 hp. and 400 Nm (in the Russian Federation, the engine output of the pre-reform crossover is 249 hp and 385 Nm). Back in the spring, the local SUV replaced its seven-speed robotic gearbox with two clutches with a classic eight-speed Aisin automatic: most likely, a similar gearbox will appear in the global crossover. In China, the Exeed VX International Edition comes only with all-wheel drive, while the regular SUV there has front-wheel drive trim levels.

The price of the new version is from 228,900 yuan (about 2,869,000 rubles at the current exchange rate). A standard VX in China costs from 193,900 yuan (2,430,000 rubles).
As for Russia, according to unofficial data, the Exeed VX with a new interior will be delivered to us by the end of this year . The pre-reform crossover in the Russian Federation is presented exclusively with all-wheel drive at a price starting from 5,300,000 rubles (excluding shares).
