MOSCOW, October 31 The government of North Ossetia has become the owner of a stake in 25% of the shares of Alania, according to the official website of the Vladikavkaz football club.
An agreement to transfer 25% and another share of the club was signed on Tuesday. The signing of the agreement was attended by the head of the republic Sergei Menyailo, the vice-president of Alania Danil Guriev and the regional minister of sports Yuri Gazzaev.
«»This procedure is a guarantee that the owner of the club will not change if we do not agree. Now the football academy will be under a professional club. This issue was agreed upon by me with the president of the RFU Alexander Dyukov. The republic must participate in the life of the club and support it. Our actions today are a guarantee that the club will not fall apart. Professional football in Ossetia will develop and be fueled by our talented youth,» Menyailo said after signing the agreement.
Alania currently plays in the First League and is one of the main contenders for entry into the Russian Premier League (RPL). The team is in third place in the table (29 points), one point behind the leading Akron Togliatti.
