MOSCOW, November 4. The high-tech stand of St. Petersburg began work at the International Exhibition and Forum «Russia», which opened on Saturday at VDNKh.
«Today, St. Petersburg is developing very intensively. The instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin for the development of St. Petersburg really give it its future,» said St. Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov at the opening of the stand.
The stand presents stereoscopic panoramas of the city on the Neva, here you can take a virtual walk along the city's canals, see copies of the sculptures «Chizhik-Pyzhik» on Fontanka and hares — symbols of the Peter and Paul Fortress, learn how to tie sea knots, learn little-known facts from the history of St. Petersburg.
“Modern St. Petersburg is a metropolis of the 21st century. It is a cultural city, very interesting and attractive for tourists, in which it is comfortable to live, create and raise children,” Beglov emphasized.
The exhibition also presents the achievements of St. Petersburg in the fields of industry, energy, shipbuilding, education, construction, science, digital technologies, culture, and preservation of historical heritage.
The exhibition opens with Historical Week. It is dedicated to the history of St. Petersburg as a city that made a great contribution to the development of Russia.
There is also a program for children: using digital technologies, events will be held introducing archaeology, toponymy of St. Petersburg, the history of Peter I.
All regions of Russia, as well as various ministries and corporations. In total, visitors will be able to view 131 exhibitions.
