MOSCOW, Nov 3. Russia is turning from a “gas station” into a self-sufficient country with processing production, which already accounts for 43% of the structure of economic growth, said Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“When we turn now into a country where we have in the structure of economic growth, 43% is already processing industries, when we stop, as they once told us, they pointed a finger at us, that we are a “gas station” and not an economy, that’s when all this changes, when we become self-sufficient, then there will be fewer people who want to expel us from some organizations, and there will be more and more people who want to apologize and invite us to work together in a variety of areas of activity,” Putin said at a meeting with members of the Public Chamber of Russia.
In this regard, he believes that it is necessary to focus on the domestic agenda, solve the problems facing the country, move forward and develop, strengthen demography, and also “strengthen internally politically,” which , according to the head of state, contributes to the celebration of National Unity Day.
The meeting is taking place at the Central Museum of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. The Public Chamber of the new, eighth composition was formed in June 2023.
