Abramchenko spoke about the situation with food exports

MOSCOW, November 4. The Russian authorities are not discussing new measures to limit food exports, in addition to those already proposed by the Ministry of Agriculture for poultry meat, eggs and durum wheat, Deputy Prime Minister Victoria Abramchenko told reporters on the sidelines of the Russia exhibition.
“No, only everything that was related to poultry meat,” she said, answering the corresponding question.

Speaking about the measures already proposed by the Ministry of Agriculture, she recalled that a decision on them has not yet been made. “The Ministry of Agriculture has come up with such an initiative, this initiative has not yet been considered at the subcommittee of the Ministry of Economic Development on customs and tariff regulation. Therefore, there is no such decision… In mid-November it is planned to consider this issue at the subcommittee,” added the Deputy Prime Minister.

She also noted that the priority for the government is “the stability of the domestic market both in terms of the physical volume of food, so that there is no shortage, and in terms of economic accessibility for the population,” and To preserve it, a number of measures are used, including customs and tariff regulation.
“We need a certain volume when it comes to poultry meat, therefore, due to several factors, in certain months of this year we recorded a decrease in production. To increase this volume, a decision was made to open new enterprises in Kazakhstan and Belarus, and additional work was carried out with producers, to increase volumes,” explained the Deputy Prime Minister.
Now, according to her, domestic poultry meat producers confirm their previously given forecast for production growth of “somewhere plus 3%.” “There will be enough volumes, there will be enough volumes — there will be, accordingly, an impact on the cost,” she concluded.
At the end of October, the Ministry of Agriculture proposed to establish a ban on the export of certain types of poultry meat and edible eggs from the Russian Federation for a period of six months from December 1, 2023 to May 31, 2024. Later, the department also proposed to establish a temporary ban on the export of durum wheat from the Russian Federation for a period of six months.
