MOSCOW, November 4. The definition of “relative of a foreign agent” is not and should not be a common noun; any citizen of Russia freely comes to his homeland and travels abroad, said presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov, thus he commented on the return of Russians to their homeland, including including artist Alla Pugacheva.
““Relative of foreign agents”, firstly, is not and should not be a common noun. Secondly, Russian citizens travel to other countries, work there, return back to Russia, and then leave again. This is a constant process, this happens in all countries of the world. And naturally, any Russian citizen — a respectable, law-abiding Russian citizen — always freely returns to his homeland, the Russian Federation, and also freely leaves it for various purposes, be it tourism, or the desire to live somewhere else for some time. And so on and so forth,” Peskov told reporters.
“Without Galkin*”
On Thursday evening, a source familiar with the situation announced Pugacheva’s arrival in Russia. Her husband Maxim Galkin*, recognized as a foreign agent in Russia, is not accompanying her, he clarified.
«She has arrived. Alone, without Galkin*. Through Pskov,” said the agency’s interlocutor.
Pugacheva’s departure from Russia
The artist left last fall with her children for Israel. She received a barrage of criticism on social networks. In response to this, the singer called the hatred of those people whom she “always could not stand” happiness. She also stated that those who criticize her “were slaves — they became slaves.”
The last time the singer came to Russia was in May, she attended the funeral of fashion designer Valentin Yudashkin.
The Ministry of Justice included Galkin* in register of foreign agents in mid-September last year. The document indicated that Galkin*’s country of financing was Ukraine, and also mentioned “carrying out political activities.” In June, the Zamoskvoretsky Court of Moscow refused to remove Galkin* from the status of a foreign agent.
